Workers Member of Parliament Sam Lyomoki has been arrested and is being held at the central police station in Kampala for questioning.
Workers labor unions last month’s led by Lyomoki announced they would boycott Labor Day celebrations taking place today.
Meanwhile, Labour Day demonstrations are also taking place in other countries across the world.
Lyomoki who is also Secretary General for the Central Organization of Free Trade Union says the boycott is in protest of the poor working conditions of employees in the country and the failure by government set a minimum wage for workers.
