Opposition leaders set to announce a new string of demonstrations in Kampala over the recently signed oil agreements

Opposition leaders led by Col. Kizza Besigye are set to announce a new string of demonstrations in Kampala over the recently signed oil agreements tomorrow.

The Inter Party Cooperation (IPC) coordinator Omar Kalinge-Nnyago says the press conference will be held at their offices along Katonga Road in Nakasero at 9am Thursday.

The media briefing on the illegal Museveni oil contracts will be addressed by among others Hon. John Ken Lukyamuzi, Dr. Kizza Besigye, Asuman Basalirwa and other opposition leaders whose confirmation is awaited.

During an A4C rally in Mukono on Sunday, Besigye said President Yoweri Museveni made a huge mistake by authorizing Energy Minister Irene Muloni to sign $2.9b oil deals with Tullow.

Besigye said Museveni should have obtained consent from Parliament before rushing to append his signature on the oil deals.
