The Kumi Conjoined twins who were transferred to Mulago hospital 3 months ago from Kumi Hospital have died.
The female twins shared a Liver and a heart and were conjoined at the chest and abdomen up to the umbilical cord.
The Mulago hospital Executive director Doreen Maale Birabwa earlier said that the hospital was not willing to conduct the operation because it might involve loss of lives since the twins share the most essential organs.
The twins had earlier been reported to be in good condition and were steadily gaining weight until about 1AM today when they passed away.
The twins were born on 25th October 2011 at Kumi Hospital to Agnes Anyait ,19 and Augustine Ojangole 23.
This was the second pair of Siamese twins to be admitted at Mulago hospital. Another set of conjoined twins was admitted at Mulago Hospital months ago but they were successfully separated in Egypt.
