Mutebile speaks out

The central Bank Governor Emmanuel Tumusime mutebile says the bank of Uganda has no legal basis to determine how commercial banks can set interest rates on personal loans.

Recently the business community through Kampala City Traders association (Kacita) gave an ultimatum of up to 10th this month for the Central Bank to intervene in the increasing lending rates by commercial banks especially on old loans or they strike.
