Mulago doctors and cleaners were yesterday arrested for stealing government drugs.
The hospital management was alerted by one of the patients.
They found the medicine hidden in the bathrooms of the gynecology ward 5c Mulago hospital and drawers.
The cleaners have been the ones smuggling out the drugs.
By the time they found the drugs they were packed and they were indicated on the names of the owners.
The doctors were arrested and they are to face the law.
Drugs have been reportedly stolen from the hospital and many people who go to Mulago are always told that there are no drugs and they are just prescribed the medicine which they buy from private pharmacies.
“It is very hard to even get panadol for free in the hospital but I was amazed that all those drugs were found” a reveler said.
The hospital management has told the patients to alert them in case they see anything improper and also told them not to pay any un-receipted fees asked by doctors.
